The
students that come into the SPRING are in need of your prayer.
Whether it is trouble in the home, in school or hanging
out with the "wrong crowd", there are many kids
definitely worth saving. Drugs are rampant in this day and
age, and we want to provide a "safe" place for
them to hang out and loving, caring staff to talk with them
about things that are going on in their lives.
The
heater/air conditioner in the large room of the SPRING continues
to be a blessing. Our PS3 system is in constant use and
one of the staff installed a new water fountain this year.
Our
PC LAN Gaming Center computers are being used full time
now for internet access as well as games. All 9 computers
are in constant use.
Here's
some photos of the kids doing a Car Wash fund raiser. They
did a super job!!
We
took 30 kids to Dare2Share in Phoenix March 5 & 6, 2010.
Thank you for your prayers. Six kids prayed to receive Jesus
as their Savior...We held a follow up event at The SPRING
on March 13. The kids played and sang the songs we learned
at D2S, shared stories and prayer requests. The Prayer time
was student led. We gave out 10 bibles to students at this
event and have ordered more to keep up with the demand!
The
challenge is that they take "THE Cause" to their
friends in the city of Willcox, AZ and others. What is "THE
Cause"? Spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to
everyone the Lord brings into our paths.
We
have held several concerts at the SPRING including several
Christian bands of which "Loaner" from Yuma is
the most well known. Local band, "When Death Becomes
You" appeared several times with Christian bands from
the Sierra Vista, AZ area. We are open to hearing from bands
that would like to perform at the SPRING.
We are excited to see what God is doing in our lives and
the lives of these teens that we are interacting with every
week. Teens are coming to us for advice, help with classes
and questions about God. Please continue to keep the teens
and the volunteer staff in prayer.
The
SPRING is a faith based recreation and social center for
youth located in Willcox, Arizona and the surrounding communities
in the Sulphur Springs Valley.
The
Vision
Is
to provide a safe place for the middle and high school students
of Willcox and the surrounding areas to “hang out.”
A place where they can play, congregate, eat, drink some
coffee or soda, listen to some music, show off their talents,
and worship together, regardless of their socio-economic
status, religious background, or ethnicity. A place free
from the pressures of everyday life. A place where they
can go for help: school work, relationship issues, crisis
issues, and just every day needs. A place staffed by people
who care about students and desire to help them make it
through this difficult time of their life in one piece.
THANKS
to all who have helped the teens of Willcox. Here's a link
to our friends at Extended
Hands Ministries. They have several members volunteering
at The SPRING.
